Look at this delicio

Look at this delicious gorgeous chunky croissant baby leg!! 🥐 👶🏻 😂😂🥹 Our Ùna is 6 months old!!! Was told for most of the pregnancy she was underweight and now she’s 96th percentile!!! The time has flown but the nights have been long. I’m so grateful for this little girl, so grateful to my amazing partner for supporting me on this journey the last 6 months and grateful for my beautiful kind Billy. I’ve been told that I’m not good at pregnancy which I think is not the healthiest thing to be put in my brain and unconscious. It tells me unconsciously that pregnancy is a skill that must be learnt or mastered which after two pregnancies and being around other pregnant women I know this is absolute BS! Pregnancy is tough, post partum is tough (you are growing and keeping alive a human being for crying out loud!) and just how I talk to my clients about how our brains are so unique and different, all pregnancies and post partum experiences are unique and different. There are moments of pure bliss, beauty but also moments of mental and physical collapse that you have to put yourself back to together time and time again. My first baby breastfeeding was tough and we had to do formula top ups. Not knowing he was so sick it got especially tough with the trauma of him being hospitalised at 8 weeks with 2 major operations. So the pressure to breastfeed to help him heal was enormous and in the end I stopped breastfeeding all together at 6 months. But I knew and could see from the wonderful mothers around me that fed is best and my son is thriving now. With Ùna it’s been so different. She was born healthy and I was fine this time with using formula if I needed it. But wow she is a great breast feeder and I have been so lucky to be in a position physically, mentally and just time wise to be able to breastfeed her or pump enough milk for her. Well…currently..who knows what will happen tomorrow or the next day but taking it one day at a time. What women go through to bring a human into this world physically, mentally, hormonally is just insane and we need to show more kindness, patience and love to ourselves and other mothers. Taking it one day and one leg munch at a time ❤️ ...

The last year with b

The last year with being a mother for the second time has taught me so much. I knew it would be so hard as well as yes rewarding and beautiful. But its taught me to protect myself, my mental well being, my family and my time. Taught me to not spend my time trying to please everyone and to focus on what is important during this crazy journey of motherhood. Taught me to take ownership of this journey because it is mine. This is my life, my family and my mind.

Words cannot describe how incredibly thankful I am for the support I have with my partner, friends and family constantly checking in. I honestly could not be going through this without you all. Sometimes I feel like that Mary J Blige song and I'm just on repeat saying "I'm fine fine fine fine oooo!" 😂 When I'm really not but you know who you are that have checked in and given me the bravery to say I'm not fine and I need help. And more importantly these people have listened and not questioned anything that I ask of them. So thank you for the meals, hugs, baby cuddles, giggles, cleaning, organising, washing and the listening.

So to everyone out there on this day. Its okay to say no you are not okay and people please just listen to what you can help with. I know now what it truly means to help someone, to be of service and to show kindness.

xx
